Who is the service for?
- Current Clients – people with a learning disability, difficulty or autism who are currently receiving one of Birmingham Rathbone’s services
- Enquirers and Prospective Clients – who might be considering making a referral or referring themselves to Birmingham Rathbone to access one of our services
- Other Enquirers – members of the public, employers, other organisations etc. who want information about Birmingham Rathbone as a charity and service provider, and about the services we offer.
What can you expect from us?
Accurate and impartial information, advice and guidance about the services we offer and the processes we use for assessment for people to access them. If on assessment it seems another service would be appropriate we will, where possible, suggest alternatives and provide information on them to help you make a decision.
A Service which meets national standards – we are accredited to the national Matrix standards for giving Information, Advice & Guidance, and we ensure that all of our staff are trained to an appropriate level to deliver high quality IAG.
Equality of Treatment – We aim to work with all our clients on an individual person-centred basis, regardless of disability, ability and potential, sex, age, race, ethnicity, social background, religion or belief, sexual orientation, if in a marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity and gender re-assignment. We will provide information, advice and guidance to you in a way and in a format that you prefer, and will make sure that we meet the national standards for accessible information.
Confidentiality – To provide you with the best service we keep a record of your details, support/service provided and your contact with us. This information is handled carefully under the Data Protection Act so only those who need to see it have access and it is only kept for as long as it is needed, being deleted/destroyed in a secure and confidential way. You have the right to ask at any time to see the information we hold about you. We require all staff to complete a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (Disclosure & Barring Service) before starting work.
Training & Development – Birmingham Rathbone is committed to achieving and maintaining the highest standards of service provision. To do so, we invest extensively in the training and development of all of our staff.
